The City of Seattle was looking for a way to reduce the amount of cash carried around by people on the street. They embarked on a large-scale project to update all on-street parking machines and enable drivers to pay securely by credit card.
The City had allocated just 13 weeks to create, test and commission their cash-free payment services infrastructure. The City assessed the credentials of payment service providers worldwide. They needed a company with a sound track record a supplier they could trust to deliver well-engineered solutions in very short timescales.
The city chose CreditCall and our scalable, global, CardEase network which allows the driver’s credit card to be authorised in real-time over a radio data network. The North American CreditCall service, based in New York, has links direct to all the major American banks. Currently, the city of Seattle has set the service live on over 2150 of its parking meters.
